Been Drum Decorating

As the countdown continues, Littleun decided he wanted his Tambo/drum decorated. So after trying to work out what would go well on the skin we came up with this:
First we drew Cernunnos
Littleun wanted it bigger but as I had done it in ink we couldn't change it so have added a celtic knot
You can use inks, paints or in this case pencils to colour

Now he is digging out all the others he owns and wants them done too. I can see its going to be a task getting him to choose just one when Beltane arrives!

The pattern comes from a site I saw once, though I haven't ever managed to find it again so sadly can't give credit. If anyone knows can you tell me, I'll gladly add the original name.

Very nice! What kind of ink do you use? does this drum get played? Do the designs come off after much play? Sorry for all the questions, I've been trying to decide if I want to decorate my own drums. :)

lol does it get played?! yes all the time (normally from the min he wakes up!

The ink is Stabilo "write-4-all", the designs can come of after a while as its only pencil colour but if I use certain paints then they stay on, can't remember the names of the paints, will find out for you.

That is so cool! You did a great job!!! I need to do more hands-on stuff like that with my little Sadie. She'd love it. :)

Very cool! You know you might want to consider selling "altered" or "beautified" drums. Could be a fun side project.

Great design :) love it! you did a great job too. I used acrylics on mine and stays fine but with lots of use a couple of coats of varnish would work well. x

The design is an old Celtic one. I'm not sure anyone knows who originally created Him. If you check out the store (which does have a website) "Gaelsong," they have a few items with that particular image. I hope this helps. He came out lovely, and the knotwork is beautiful! *^_^*
